Almost 8 months ago I went back to work and put Lila in day care. It was a tough choice but I need a break. A 9 month old couldn't hold stimulating conversations and I felt Ike Lila really needed the social interactions of other kids and adults.
It turned out that this was a great experience for both of us. She REALLY became a people person and I met some really amazing people at my job.
Life was really different and at times I felt like I was missing so much of Lilas life during the week. A lot of times I would beat myself up because when I got home from working 9+ hours, I really just wasn't in the mood or right frame of mind for a whiney baby. Fortunately it wasn't always like that and I was able to enjoy our nightly routine.
Almost 3 weeks ago we found out that Kyle was offered a job in the Atlanta area and after some discussion we realized it was the right move. So here we are a week into the new job for Kyle. I am back at home with Lila, who is now 17 months old and a full on toddler, our long time dog Remington, and our 4 month old puppy Maverick.
This week has been interesting. We aren't in our rental house yet but thankfully my in-laws have opened their home to us (I'm not sure they realized what they were in for when they offered). I've been trying to keep Lila's schedule pretty close to her norm at daycare but they are obviously magicians.
I am thankful this area has tons of parks and interactive things for toddlers so in between looking for the perfect rental and feeding this food compactor of a child, we will be checking these out ASAP. I'll share more soon. 😉
*Before I left my job in Savannah, one of the special people I worked with gave me a book and in it she wrote " The 3 C's in Life: Choice, Chance, Change. You must make the choice, to take the chance, if you want anything to change."
